LPI Lightning Strike Recorder (LSR1) is a counter of lightning strike that can be mounted anywhere together with down conductor route. It can accurately record the count of strikes, which are captured and conveyed down conductor. Discharge counter add a count as it discovers the energy dissipated by the down counter when the lightning rod gets an impact of the lightning strike. It operates by sensing current with the help of an inductive pick up loop. The current transformer (CT) detects the voltage impulse followed by triggering the pulse counter, which turns the counter for registering the lightning event. No internal or external power supply is required for the equipment operation; this electrical mechanical equipment makes use of the power of the induced current dissipated through the down conductor.
